The R.A. Long Lumberjacks will square off against the Mark Morris Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: R.A. Long has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Mark Morris will arrive with six straight wins.
Woodland hit R.A. Long with a seven-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lumberjacks came up short against the Beavers, falling 13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Lumberjacks have lost by exactly ten runs.
Audrina Solano (2026) made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, while Mark Morris put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Washougal. The Monarchs put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 20-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Monarchs, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Shyanne Sellers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Paisley Fraidenburg was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grace Woodbridge, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Mark Morris was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washougal only posted a batting average of .000.
Mark Morris' win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for R.A. Long, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
R.A. Long might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Mark Morris when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Lumberjacks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
