Chalker hasn't had much luck against Mathews recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will square off against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Chalker put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. Everything went their way against Lordstown as they made off with a 20-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won six in a row.
Zach Pack made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Pack was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

Chalker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mathews got the win against Bristol on Thursday by a conclusive 14-5. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.
Chalker's record now sits at 4-7-1. As for Mathews, their record is now 10-6.
Chalker was able to grind out a solid victory over Mathews in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 12-8. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
