After flying high against the Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators last Friday, the Charleston Collegiate Sundevils came back down to earth. Charleston Collegiate was dealt a 82-34 defeat at the hands of Christian Academy on Saturday. Charleston Collegiate was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-25.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grace Owens, who scored 27 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Owens has scored at least 25% of Christian Academy's points. Carly Belle Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds.
Charleston Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Christian Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charleston Collegiate will take on Ashley Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Laurence Manning Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
