Softball Recap: Clay County Has No Trouble Against South Harrison

Clay County got themselves on the board against South Harrison on Tuesday, but South Harrison never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 12-0 victory. Considering the Panthers have won four contests by more than 11 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Clay County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for South Harrison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

Looking ahead, Clay County will head out on the road to square off against Gilmer County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Harrison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
