The Chaparral Roadrunners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 52-36 fall against Trinity Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Chaparral of the 43-39 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Chaparral's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Swartz, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Swartz is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Paige Swingle was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Trinity Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Chaparral will be playing at home against Belle Plaine at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Trinity Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Dodge City on Tuesday.
