Volleyball Recap: Gompers Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Gompers Prep Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the St. Joseph Academy Crusaders by a score of 2-1.

Leading St. Joseph Academy to victory were Sean Ambuul and Justice Ahiafor. Ambuul had 13 assists and two aces, while Ahiafor had seven kills and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave Ambuul a new career-high in kills (four).

Gompers Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for St. Joseph Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Gompers Prep Academy and Horizon Prep will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:00 p.m. on April 1. Horizon Prep will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Gompers Prep Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Escondido Adventist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on April 1. St. Joseph Academy is facing Escondido Adventist Academy at the right time seeing as Escondido Adventist Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
