Granite Hills will head out on the road to square off against Olympian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Granite Hills has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Granite Hills is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Friday. They came up short against San Marcos, falling 16-6.
Ariana Heninger and Taylor Nash stepped up to the plate in a big way. Heninger went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Nash went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Heninger has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazlyn Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Olympian). They blew past University City 11-3 two weeks ago. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Alexandra Perez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, NiKayla Flowers was excellent, going 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Isabella Zamora, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Olympian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2025.
Granite Hills' loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Olympian, they now have a winning record of 5-4-2.
Granite Hills couldn't quite finish off Olympian in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 and fell 6-4. Can Granite Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
