The Midview Middies will square off against the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Midview took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Stow-Munroe Falls, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Middies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Bulldogs on Saturday.

Luke Jockel made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Midview is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 5-9 otherwise. Jockel was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Derringer, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted over his last nine contests. Benjamin Szczepanski was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Olmsted Falls got the win against Berea-Midpark on Tuesday by a conclusive 10-2. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Olmsted Falls also got a great performance from Quade Hess as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Hess has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Cam Pesch was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Kessen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Midview's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Olmsted Falls, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Midview has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Olmsted Falls struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Midview was able to grind out a solid victory over Olmsted Falls in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 7-3. Will the Middies repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
