The Minuteman Regional Minuteman will head out on the road to challenge the Innovation Academy The Red Tailed Hawk at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.
Even though Mystic Valley Regional scored an imposing 59 points last Tuesday, Minuteman Regional still came out on top. Minuteman Regional walked away with a 66-59 win over Mystic Valley Regional.
Even though Innovation Academy has not done well against Mystic Valley Regional recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Innovation Academy took down Mystic Valley Regional 64-45.
Derrick Twum was his usual excellent self, scoring 37 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Innovation Academy's points. Bryce Kankam was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Minuteman Regional's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for Innovation Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Minuteman Regional was taken down by Innovation Academy 87-54 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Minuteman Regional, Jaydis Gonzalez (who scored 23 points along with six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
