The Badger Braves came tearing into Saturday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 47-39 victory over Girard. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Badger has scored all year.
Badger had a senior duo take command as Katie Grexa dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds and Hannah Betts scored 12 points along with nine steals. The contest was Grexa's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Huscroft, who scored nine points.
Badger's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.79 points. As for Girard, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-7 record last season and are now at 2-5.
Badger will be home for the holidays to greet Chalker at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Girard, they will head out on the road to face off against Struthers at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
