Despite their defeat, Fort Lupton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Daniella Aviles, who posted ten points in addition to eight boards and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Meanwhile, Basalt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were outmatched by Delta and fell 66-16. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Panthers are ranked 62nd).
Fort Lupton's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 13-8. As for Basalt, their loss dropped their record down to 2-19.
