The Atlantic Sharks can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 51-24 win over Halifax Academy at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Atlantic has posted since December 4, 2023.
It was another big night for Aurielle Reavis, who scored 24 points along with six steals and five rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Saniya Whitfield, who scored nine points.
Atlantic's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Halifax Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlantic won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Matanzas at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. Matanzas is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Halifax Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Odyssey Charter School at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Odyssey Charter School is ranked 561st, while Halifax Academy is ranked 538th).
