The East Webster Wolverines will face off against the Choctaw County Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Webster's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Choctaw County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
While East Webster's win against Vardaman wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolverines had just enough and edged out the Rams 7-6. Winning may never get old, but the Wolverines sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Kage McHann was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Huntet Stewart, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
East Webster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .520 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Choctaw County fell victim to South Pontotoc and their airtight pitching crew last Wednesday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 8-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Chargers were not able to get on the board.
East Webster's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Choctaw County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
