The South Harrison Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Braxton County Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (South Harrison is ranked 74th, while the Eagles are ranked 68th).
South Harrison unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 67-34 loss at the hands of Gilmer County.
South Harrison's loss came about despite a quality game from Halle Bland, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Louk, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Braxton County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 45-39 to the Raiders. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Braxton County in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now lost seven in a row.
South Harrison's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. Braxton County's record now sits at 9-9.
South Harrison came up short against the Eagles when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 42-37. Can South Harrison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
