The Maysville Panthers waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They strolled past Sheridan with points to spare, taking the game 66-52. Given Maysville's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Sheridan is ranked 322nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Maysville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordyn Watson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Watson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Bobb, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds.
Maysville pushed their record up to 15-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Sheridan, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.
Maysville will take on Tri-Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Maysville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 494 points over their last seven matchups.
