Basketball Game Preview: Pennsauken Tech vs. Doane Academy

Pennsauken Tech will square off against Doane Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, everything went Pennsauken Tech's way against Maple Shade as Pennsauken Tech made off with a 53-29 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pennsauken Tech.

Pennsauken Tech relied on the efforts of Omari Spencer, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds, and Tyrone Baker, who went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points along with six assists and six boards. Those six assists gave Baker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Xavier Melendez, who posted five points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Doane Academy didn't have too much trouble with Willingboro on Thursday as they won 56-38. Given Doane Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Willingboro is ranked 393rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Doane Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Pennsauken Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Things could have been worse for Pennsauken Tech, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-44 loss to Doane Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024.
