The University Prep Academy Golden Eagles had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They walked away with a 46-33 win over Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit. The score was all tied up 16-16 at the break, but University Prep Academy was the better team in the second half.
University Prep Academy can attribute much of their success to Noah Berhe, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Mathias Woodaj, who scored nine points.
The win got University Prep Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.
University Prep Academy will be playing at home against KIPP Navigate College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit, they will head out on the road to square off against Luis Valdez Leadership Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
