Hialeah is 9-1 against Westland Hialeah since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Hialeah Thoroughbreds will head out on the road to face off against the Westland Hialeah Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. One thing working in Hialeah's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
Hialeah pushed their score all the way to 61 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-61 to Hialeah Gardens. The loss was Hialeah's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Westland Hialeah was able to grind out a solid win over Carol City on Thursday, taking the game 55-42. Given Westland Hialeah's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Carol City is ranked 724th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hialeah's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-1. As for Westland Hialeah, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1.
Hialeah strolled past Westland Hialeah when the teams last played back in January by a score of 70-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hialeah since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
