Softball Recap: Mayo Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Mayo had lost four straight, but after bumping their record up to 7-7 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

As for Sauk Rapids-Rice, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this matchup were averaging 3.47 runs allowed.

For Sauk Rapids-Rice's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julie Skog, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Coming up, Mayo will square off against New Prague at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sauk Rapids-Rice, they will head out to face off against Becker at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
