This season hasn't been kind to the Laredo LBJ Wolves, who are still winless after their 17th matchup. They took a serious blow against Cole on Friday, falling 62-20. While losing is never fun, Laredo LBJ can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1304th, while Cole is ranked 358th).
Cole got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kendall Gonzales out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Kamyra Childs, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Laredo LBJ bumped their record down to 0-17 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.4 points per game. As for Cole, their victory bumped their record up to 19-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laredo LBJ will take on Crystal City at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cole, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Great Hearts Northern Oaks at 6:15 p.m. on January 5th.
