Last Friday, Slocomb took a serious blow against Wicksburg, falling 50-20. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Slocomb in their matchups with Wicksburg: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Samson lost to Geneva at home by a decisive 53-36 margin on Friday. It was the first time this season that Samson let down their fans at home.
Slocomb bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Samson, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.
Slocomb came up short against Samson in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 57-47. Can Slocomb avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
