The Loris Lions were the 48-37 winner over the Waccamaw Warriors when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. Loris fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 35-32. Loris has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Loris lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Janiya Richburg. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 19 rebounds. Richburg is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ke'Asia Smith, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Loris' defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Waccamaw, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.
Loris will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Georgetown is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Waccamaw, they will head out on the road to take on the Blue Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
