The Chiles Timberwolves will play host again and welcome the Madison County Cowboys, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chiles will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Madison County is ranked 135th).
Chiles suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Rickards, falling 78-35. Chiles found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post seven fewer assists than your opponent.
Faith Durden put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 16 points along with two steals. That was a full 45.7% of Chiles' points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Madison County entered their tilt with Crossroad Academy with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Madison County pulled ahead with a 1-0 photo finish over Crossroad Academy. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Madison County has scored all season.
Chiles' defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Madison County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Everything went Chiles' way against Madison County when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as Chiles made off with a 56-34 victory. Will Chiles repeat their success, or does Madison County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
