Basketball Recap: Lakecrest Baptist Drops Highest Score of Season Against State Line Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakecrest Baptist). They secured a 67-62 W over the State Line Christian Patriots on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 51-44 on January 10th.

Brandt Dyer and Jackson Baumker certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Dyer went 6 of 7 on his way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Baumker went 7 for 11 en route to 19 points. That's the most steals Dyer has posted since back in November of 2024. Cooper Worley was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Lakecrest Baptist has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for State Line Christian, the defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 10-7.

Lakecrest Baptist won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fostoria Baptist Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Fostoria Baptist Academy will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Lakecrest Baptist surely won't give up without a fight. As for State Line Christian, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Bowling Green Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. State Line Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season.
