Hayden was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Sargent on Friday. The Tigers breezed past the Farmers to the tune of 58-8. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-0.
Peyton Johnson was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 119 yards and three TDs on only seven carries, and also threw for 84 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six passes. What's more, he racked up 149.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Carson Campbell was another key player, picking up 81 receiving yards and two scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hayden was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sargent only rushed for 157 rushing yards.

The win got Hayden back to even at 1-1. As for Sargent, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coming up, Hayden will venture away from home to take on Dayspring Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sargent, they will welcome Hoehne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
