Kell is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Greater Atlanta Christian is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Kell Longhorns will take on the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Kell got the win against Cambridge by a conclusive 47-21.
Tyriq Green continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 185 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also picking up 85 receiving yards. Green was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinterrius Gipson, who rushed for 46 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Greater Atlanta Christian was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past North Springs 55-14 on the road. Greater Atlanta Christian's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Greater Atlanta Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gianlucca "gl" Tiberia led the charge by rushing for 150 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Tiberia is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Stanton, who threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes.
Their wins bumped Kell to 6-1 and Greater Atlanta Christian to 7-0.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as the pair have no problem gaining yardage. Kell has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 459.1 total yards per game. However, it's not like Greater Atlanta Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 432.3 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Kell beat Greater Atlanta Christian 28-19 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Does Kell have another victory up their sleeve, or will Greater Atlanta Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
