Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Daviess County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zoey Beehn, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Beehn has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Lane, who went 5 for 12 en route to 15 points.
Daviess County was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Apollo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Trigg County, falling 54-30. The Eagles were down 47-20 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Daviess County will need focus on slowing down Lashay Vera, one of several Apollo players who made an impact when they last played. She posted eight points and six boards. Maleah Potter also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.
The victory got Daviess County back to even at 11-11. As for Apollo, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Daviess County hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56.5 points per game. It's a different story for Apollo, though, as they've been averaging only 25.9 points. The only thing between Daviess County and another offensive beatdown is Apollo. Everything came up roses for Daviess County against Apollo when the teams last played two weeks ago, as the team secured a 71-13 win. In that game, Daviess County amassed a halftime lead of 51-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
