The Pleasant Ridge Rams entered their tilt with the Jackson Heights Cobras with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pleasant Ridge enjoyed a cozy 57-42 victory over Jackson Heights on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pleasant Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Pleasant Ridge was led to victory by Mia Ernzen and Isabela Major. Ernzen scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Major scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Potter, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Jackson Heights saw an underclassman step up: Chesnea Cochren scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Taylor Bosley was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Pleasant Ridge pushed their record up to 10-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Jackson Heights, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Pleasant Ridge will head out on the road to take on Oskaloosa on Thursday. Pleasant Ridge is facing Oskaloosa at the right time seeing as Oskaloosa is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Jackson Heights, they will be playing at home against Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson Heights will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy is ranked 87th).
