Scott Central (Forest, Miss.) grabbed the lead when Hendershot ran for a touchdown with 4:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
St. Joseph Catholic (Madison, Miss.) 35-20 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured four lead swaps.
The Bruins pulled ahead on a
Chris Hanneke touchdown pass to
DaJour Evans, and subsequently went into halftime leading 10-7. The Rebels took the lead for good with a Hendershot touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring 13 points in the third, Scott Central still trailed by three points going into the fourth quarter. But 15 points in the fourth helped SC pull out the victory.
St. Joseph Catholic came in surrendering 17.4 points per game this season.
The loss comes after St. Joseph Catholic defeated Pisgah 21-0 last week. The loss broke St. Joseph Catholic's three-game winning streak.
