The Edgemont Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to Peekskill on the road by a decisive 45-30 margin.
Amari Murphy continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Peekskill, scoring 26 points. The contest was Murphy's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jealina Searight, who scored six points along with seven steals.
Edgemont's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.8 points per game. As for Peekskill, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgemont will square off against The Leffell School at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Peekskill, they will head out on the road to face off against Brewster at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
