Basketball Recap: Central Christian Academy Find Success

Tabernacle Christian came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Central Christian Academy, but Olivia Mattingly wouldn't allow it. The Central Christian Academy Chargers put the hurt on the Tabernacle Christian Eagles with a sharp 45-22 win on Thursday thanks in part to Mattingly, who went 9 of 18 en route to 25 points and eight rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Central Christian Academy's points.

Neveah Rodriguez was another key player, putting up three points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Tabernacle Christian lost, don't look at Lacy Southerland. Despite the final result, she posted 18 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Hallie Adams, who put up two points and ten rebounds.

Central Christian Academy's record is now 9-5. As for Tabernacle Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Central Christian Academy will square off against Eminence at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eminence will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something Central Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tabernacle Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-32 win against Christian Academy of Madison on the 3rd.
