The Dragons will host the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. New Palestine's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Yorktown's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
New Palestine is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Batesville by a score of 10-5 on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Dragons with their most commanding win of the season.

Rigg Mahurin was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Liam Atkinson was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
New Palestine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Yorktown not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2, 2024. They put the hurt on Connersville with a sharp 9-3 victory.
Ben Steele looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaden Crumes, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Reid Turner, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
The win made it two in a row for New Palestine and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Yorktown, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.
New Palestine's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. The Dragons have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Yorktown, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will New Palestine continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went New Palestine's way against Yorktown when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as New Palestine made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
