Towns County is 0-3 against Lincoln County since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Towns County Indians will be playing at home against the Lincoln County Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. Towns County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Towns County had to suffer through a rough 41-14 loss at the hands of Washington-Wilkes. Towns County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.
Meanwhile, Lincoln County put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 27-0 win over Warren County at home. The win was just what Lincoln County needed coming off of a 28-3 loss in their prior match.
Lincoln County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rj Crite, who picked up 43 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Towns County's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Greene County and 7-2 Union County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.4% over those games). As for Lincoln County, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Towns County took a serious blow against Lincoln County when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 35-8. Will Towns County have more luck at home instead of on the road?
