The Waltrip Rams pushed their score all the way to 71 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 82-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sterling. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (69), Waltrip still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sterling to victory, but perhaps none more so than Darnell Williams, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Williams has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Christian Rogers, who scored 14 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Waltrip now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Sterling, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.
Waltrip will be playing at home against the Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sterling, they will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1226th, while the Raiders are ranked 492nd).
