Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school football. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2025 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Parker Howley of
Classical (Providence) is the 2025 MaxPreps Rhode Island High School Football Player of the Year. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound senior quarterback led the Purple to a 12-0 record and Division 3 state title.
For the season, Howley completed 158 of 267 passes for 3,103 yards and 38 touchdowns against seven interceptions. He added 19 carries for 53 yards and two more scores on the ground.
