After flying high against Lauralton Hall  on Friday, Shelton came back down to earth. The Gaels fell just short of the Foran Lions by a score of  3-2 on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-1  back in September.
 While Shelton ultimately came up short, they really made  Foran work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-20, 17-25, 22-25,  15-11.

 Several Gaels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Nicole Zotova, who  had 50  digs and two assists. Zotova has been hot recently, having  posted 18 or more  digs the last three times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Avery Wheeler, who  had 21  digs and two  aces.
Shelton's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Foran, their win was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 13-1.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Shelton is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Wilbur Cross  at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Foran will  square off against  rival Guilford  at 5:45  p.m.  on Wednesday.
