When it comes to explaining why DCP Alum Rock lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tony Clarida. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 38.5% of DCP Alum Rock's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jorge Garcia was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
It was another big night for Christian Ademe-Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds for KIPP San Jose Collegiate. Ademe-Johnson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathew Huynh, who scored eight points.
DCP Alum Rock's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, they pushed their record up to 12-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
