Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 47-33 to The Master's Academy. Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy has struggled against The Master's Academy recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Denson, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Ritz, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Master's Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Faith Yelton led the charge by scoring 14 points along with 9 steals and 6 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Yelton has scored at least 25% of The Master's Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Braley Harrill, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals.
Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for The Master's Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy will take on Community Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Community Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for The Master's Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Carolina Day at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Carolina Day focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday.
