The Concordia Lutheran Crusaders and the Parish Episcopal Panthers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Concordia Lutheran Crusaders had to settle for second. Concordia Lutheran might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 48-6 to Parish Episcopal, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, Concordia Lutheran can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 624th, while Parish Episcopal is ranked 117th).
Parish Episcopal was led to victory by Maddux Reid and Sawyer Anderson. Reid gained 102 total yards and three touchdowns, while Anderson threw for 276 yards and five touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes. Anderson has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last seven times he's played. Carson Darby also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.
Concordia Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Parish Episcopal, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Concordia Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Parish Episcopal will face off against Antonian Prep at TBD on Saturday. Antonian Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
