There's no place like home for Weslaco East, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Donna Redskins on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Eduardo Hernandez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Hernandez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Weslaco East let James Abrego and Aiden Gonzalez run wild. Abrego got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one triple, while Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Gonzalez has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcelo Zavala, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
