The Ponte Vedra Sharks will challenge the Matanzas Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ponte Vedra is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Ponte Vedra is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past Beachside 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Barracudas: they've now won four in a row.

Aoife Weaver spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Emma Shin was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nadia Campbell, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Matanzas entered their tilt with Englewood on Tuesday with 11 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 12. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Rams a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
LEAH STEVENS looked comfortable as she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk).
At the plate, CAMRYN WILLIAMS was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. ALONDRA VINCENTY was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Matanzas hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in ten consecutive contests.
Matanzas pushed their record up to 20-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Ponte Vedra, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.
