After losing to the Gulf Coast Sharks the last time they met, the Fort Myers Green Wave decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Fort Myers walked away with a 61-52 win over Gulf Coast on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fort Myers.
Fort Myers' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marquielle Tory, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. Another player making a difference was Therry Theresias, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Fort Myers has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Gulf Coast, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Myers won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Port Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Port Charlotte will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Gulf Coast, they will head out on the road to challenge Palmetto Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Palmetto Ridge is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
