After a string of eight wins, the NYOS Charter Jaguars's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 65-64 to Meridian. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (60), NYOS Charter still had to take the loss.
NYOS Charter's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Harman, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark-Anthony Amichia, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds.
NYOS Charter's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Meridian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
NYOS Charter will face off against the Dragons at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Da Vinci has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 353 points over their last five contests. Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
