Vandegrift has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Cedar Ridge Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Vandegrift narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Dragons 51-49.
Meanwhile, Cedar Ridge strolled past the Mustangs with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 66-52. The win was all the more spectacular given Cedar Ridge's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Mustangs are ranked 69th).
It was another big night for Peyton Dulin, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Fielding, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
Vandegrift has been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 20 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. As for Cedar Ridge, they now have a winning record of 15-14.
