The Findlay Trojans will square off against the Southview Cougars at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Findlay didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Central Catholic on Monday as they made off with a 3-0 victory.
One reason for the win was Findlay's defense just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-19, 25-13, 25-10.
Meanwhile, Southview came into Monday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out Evergreen 3-2 on Monday.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Southview got the one that really mattered. The final set scores came out to 25-18, 22-25, 25-18, 24-26, 15-10.
Southview's win came from a few key players Findlay will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cam Rachko, who had 18 digs and six aces. Sophia Harshman was another key player, getting 16 kills, seven digs, four aces, and a solo block.
Southview now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Findlay, they have now won four of their last five games on the road. That run has powered them to a 7-3 record this season.
Findlay was able to grind out a solid win over Southview in their most recent meeting on September 11, 2025 last season, winning 3-1. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Harshman, who had 14 digs, 12 kills, and six aces. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Trojans still be able to contain Harshman? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
