The Traders Point Christian Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They managed a 65-59 victory over KIPP Legacy. The victory was some much needed relief for Traders Point Christian as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Traders Point Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kameron Reese out in front who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reese has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Hensley, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists.
KIPP Legacy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tayshawn Fenderson, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Nick Mapp was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Traders Point Christian's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for KIPP Legacy, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Traders Point Christian will look to defend their home court on Monday against Irvington Preparatory Academy at 6:00 p.m. Irvington Preparatory Academy is coming into the contest with four straight victories on the road, so Traders Point Christian is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. KIPP Legacy is on the road again on Wednesday and plays Indiana School for the Deaf at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th. Hopefully KIPP Legacy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
