Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Patrick Henry Academy turned things around against Andrew Jackson Academy on Friday. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 26-6 win. The Patriots not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 1, 2024 (when they won 34-0).
Patrick Henry Academy found their leader in freshman Kai Sobey, who rushed for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. Sobey's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Meanwhile, Williamsburg Academy's offense rose to the challenge against a Raiders defense that boasted an average of only 13.44 points allowed on Friday. The Stallions strolled past Dorchester Academy with points to spare, taking the game 36-21.
Williamsburg Academy's win came from a few key players Patrick Henry Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Grant Small, who rushed for 167 yards and two scores while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Small is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 108 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Charlie Caulder, who picked up 178 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Williamsburg Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 158 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
