On Thursday, De La Salle and Niles Notre Dame were almost perfectly matched up, but De La Salle suffered an agonizing 21-20 loss.
De La Salle's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Kenyonte Louis, who rushed for 80 yards, and also threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns on only 18 passes. David Coffey also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
De La Salle's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Niles Notre Dame, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.
De La Salle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Niles Notre Dame will head out on the road to face off against Marist at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marist is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
