Basketball Recap: Pritzker Falls Despite Big Games from Ezrielle Sanders and Kalyne Rodriguez

If Pritzker was riding high fresh off their 62-19 takedown of Johnson last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pritzker Jaguars took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comer Catamounts on Monday. The Jaguars have struggled against the Catamounts recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Pritzker had strong showings from Kalyne Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds, and Ezrielle Sanders, who posted six points and 13 rebounds. Rodriguez is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Even though they lost, Pritzker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Pritzker's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Comer, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pritzker will venture away from home to challenge Bulls College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 21st. As for Comer, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against The Noble Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
