Basketball Recap: Kanab Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Kanab extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Rylee Little. The Kanab Cowboys simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Water Canyon Wildcats 84-44 thanks in part to Little, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Janes, who went 8 of 10 en route to 16 points and four steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game.

Water Canyon lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Joann Barlow, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Barlow a new career-high in field goal percentage (67%). Alysha Cooke was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Kanab's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points over those games. As for Water Canyon, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Kanab and Water Canyon will both be playing Millard the next time they take the court. Kanab will head out to face Millard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Water Canyon will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th.
